The past year and a half has been a very difficult time in my life. I have been representing Martin MacNeill in his murder case. There were many days that I didn't get home until long after my kids were in bed. The past 4 months were filled with 60-80 hour weeks. Christopher got the shortest stick in relation to my lack of time for my kids.
Now that the case is finally over, I had the opportunity to arrive home from work today at about 5:30. Christopher was sitting at the table. As soon as he heard my voice, he let out one of his loud squeals of joy. I gave him a hug. He grabbed my hand with his right hand, carried his IPAD with his left hand, and led me to the corvette for an afternoon ride--just like old times.
I'm very grateful for Christopher's unconditional love as well as the love and support of the rest of my family. I couldn't have made it through this overwhelming time without them.
